Leeds Mandela Gardens

The garden in the south-east corner of Leeds Millennium Square, known as Mandela Gardens, features a 16-foot high bronze statue entitled 'Both Arms', a water feature with two circular, interlocking pools of water and ripples, cascades, jets and a mini canal forms a focal point for the garden and provides an attractive setting in which people can relax.

Mandela Gardens was officially opened by Nelson Mandela himself in April 2001.

Trees, shrubs and floral displays also form a major part of the scheme.

Here we were involved in all of the Granite Paving with all joints having to be filled by means of the Easipoint System, the Granite Edgings to the garden paths, the construction and finishing's of the steps around the water features, and the installation of the street furniture.

We were presented with a letter of commendation from the Lord Mayor of Leeds City Council for our great efforts in making sure this contract was completed in time for the grand opening by Nelson Mandela.
